I altered a yukata to shirt size and added tassels to the shoulders. They are attached to drawstrings in the sleeves so when I pull down on the tassels, the sleeves retract onto the shoulders. Accomplishes the same thing as a tasuki.

I love that kimono sleeves can be used as pockets 😁

    I’m imagining this in a martial arts movie, where you’re like: “Bad news. You just made me draw my drawstrings!” Combat begins. Partway through, your opponent undraws your drawstrings, Jackie-Chan-style.

      Old samurai flicks will actually show this. Sometimes before the fighting starts they’ll tie up their sleeves with tasuki.
