    This. Evangelicals hate Jews but they need the state of Israel to survive so it can play its part in the Rapture.

      Also you get a lot of folks who love Israel because it’s a place to keep Jewish people away from them.

      Not really. Thats one interpretation but its not spelled out specifically. The bible is funny like that-- you can always pretend to find whatever nonsense you want in it.

        You’re right that the Bible is not literal on this issue, but it is absolutely what drives evangelicals to ardently support the Israeli state.
