    I mean, if they’re in a bag or carrying case and stay there, absolutely. Otherwise you’re defacto restricting pet ownership to people who have access to cars.

      And the pets might be more hygienically sound than some of the passengers :) But I wonder how it affects people with allergies.

        If they’re in a bag, the fur shouldn’t really be able to get everywhere, no? I feel like you’d be more at risk of getting a reaction from someone who doesn’t even have their pet with them, but just has pet hairs stuck to their clothes.

        I definitely could be wrong, but if you’re so sensitive that simply being in the same room as an animal in a bag could trigger a reaction, you might be at the point where you need to be taking an anti-allergy whenever you leave the house anyway.

          Good point. I’m no expert myself but i know some routes where there isn’t much compliance with the current rules (stale beer and empty beer cans on the floor, etc). So I’m more thinking of the cumulative effect over time on routes like that.

          I wonder if the drivers have any feelings on this. But if we get the mooted transport police it might not affect them so much.
