At least a dozen US military sites across the Gulf region have been so badly damaged by Iran’s retaliation to US and Israeli attacks that their presence now creates significantly more vulnerabilities than it does benefits, a slate of Middle East experts argued on Thursday.
The original revelation about the state of the bases was first reported in The New York Times last month, in which they were described as “all but uninhabitable”.
The Trump administration has yet to acknowledge the extent of the damage sustained.
“This is the physical architecture of American primacy, and Iran has essentially rendered it useless in the span of a month,” Marc Lynch, director of the Project on Middle East Political Science at George Washington University, said at the Arab Center Washington DC’s annual conference.
To me it seems the US arms industry is too slow to adapt and too inefficient. It’s mostly a public wealth extraction operation run by rich people.
They could have paid attention to Ukraine and taken notes. Can’t do that while busy burning money though.
The US hasn’t faced anything more than well funded militias for 4 decades now, now they are facing a nation that hasn’t had to rely much on the external powers of the world. What a fucking avoidable tragedy.

So what does this say about the other bases the US has around the world?
That they have a lot of copper scrap for the enterprising individual?
They are probably horribly polluted, the host countries won’t want to deal with it, the US certainly won’t deal with it.
US of A used to be known as this unstoppable military power capable of projecting anywhere in the world. Turns out it was being hollowed from inside.
