Everyone will tell ya. Keep speakers off the same surface of turntable. Keep backs of speakers away from walls. You need more spacing side to side between speakers unless you listen from 2 ft away. Angle them if needed.
If your room limits this, use headphones.
As an audio enjoyer, speakers are far better, if you take time to setup your room properly. Cool furniture !
Heck yeah, agree with this! Speakers can vibrate the table and affect the sound through vibrations in the stylus.
Do speakers close to the wall still have the same affect of not in the corners or ported in the rear? Maybe that’s less of a concern. My music/movie setup is in limbo right now. But previously I had bass traps or some sound deadening behind L&R in the corners. Surrounds were wall mounted but not in the corner fully.
That was my first record player!! Its decent.

I do have some wall mounts for the speakers that I’ll be putting up soon, I just got everything moved off of the bookshelf it was on before.
