Technology•Motorola confirms GrapheneOS support for a future phone, bringing over featuresEnglish
1·1 month agoHey mate, don’t need one of the Motorola’s, buy a second hand pixel, I’ve got a 6 and a 10 pro (soon to be converted to GOS now that there are stable builds since it’s my daily).
It’s a bit of a shock compared to stock android but you’ll actually feel like you own and control your phone again (like I do here on the pixel 6), but you’ll lose features like the scam block, hold for me etc. that the stock OS does).
The onus becomes on you to keep the device secure, you can do another user profile to install stuff you want separate and it works nicely. It’s all sandboxed and asks your consent before giving any permissions to an app, like android used to.
I’ve been having to lean on my (now deactivated due to declining upgrade) win10 install to get around a couple games anticheat, for games I can play solo. Wild.
The amount of shit that “just (doesn’t) works” is astounding after having had to do nothing more than reboot to fix something busted for years since I switched to mint.

Technology•Windows 11 just lost 5% market share in two months despite Windows 10 losing support.English
2·2 months agoI’ve had a techy mate have issues installing mint, but I had no issues and have dailied it as an OS only reverting to windows in extreme cases.
If you’re not dual booting it’s simple as. My friend has had issues dual booting on the same drive, whereas I went one drive per OS and butter smooth. Nice to be able to recover one drive from another without external tools.

10·5 months agoI’m glad I still have shitloads of ESP8266s kicking around.
Which ESP32 boards do folks recommend lately? Too many options.

Guess I’m to blame for having working eyes. I’ll see to that.
