2·12 days agookay so im baf at geography, but is thailand either floody or swampy?
Coffins (and the big cement boxes theyre put in) have a lot of air in them. They’re actually pretty empty. There’s a phenomenon where, after sever flooding, coffins pop oit of the ground from bouyancy. Very creepy
The same thing happens with underground propane tanks, which seem to be better regulated.

Dullsters@dullsters.net•Got to play with the front monitor on a fire engine today.
5·13 days agookay so I might be wrong, but I beleive “monitor” is used for any speaker thaf repeats the input back to the person performing. I used to work the sound board at a church, and theres little speakers by where the choir sings so they can hear themselves better.
My audio interface also has a “monitor” button next to the xlr inputs, which sends the mic input back into the outputs so I can hear myself talk

15·15 days agoif Dolby wins, everyone implementing AV1 (or maybe just parties that profit from it?) will have to pay Dobly royalties, even though AV1 is royalty-free

clang. #GCC4lyfeedit: is joke. Clang’s compile-time analysis/instrumentation injection and bytecode inspection is cool as hell. Also interop between languages and stuff. Work uses GCC though, so my hands are tied

6·27 days agoThere were 2.5 major ones for me:
- Higher upload limit for game clips/highlights. OBS didn’t handle transcoding the stream down to a lower resolution without hitting the GPU hard enough to make the game stuttery
- Higher stream resolution/fps. This mattered less to me as the homies aged and played games less frequently
- Use the obnoxious custom emoji reactions between servers. I could upload some real egregious shit on a test server and use it in the homie server
Boring response: I mean, dB is calculated as a function of log, but when it’s on the X axis I imagine it’s typically displayed linearly
Funny response: loglog
Baby shark predates the internet, no? I learned it on a fieldtrip in the late dialup era, well before casual internet browsing was mainstream (at least for kids my age)
This could be log scale. Or inverse log idk which way you want the curve to be
Yeah flat-bottomed polygons are the best. The ONLY exception is flatheads, which should only ever be used on surfaces prone to repainting, because you can scrape paint out pretty easily.
