I know you are not looking for advice or affirmation or anything, but wanted to share my own experience all the same.
I’ve been married for 15 years to someone who deals with depression. I used to look at her depression and think If I could just eliminate the triggers, then she won’t be depressed. I understand now that isn’t how it works. My wife gets depressed because she has depression. If I eliminate this trigger or that trigger, her brain just finds something else. And there will always be something else. Because it’s not really about the so-called triggers. It’s about her depression.
Your sister isn’t depressed because of anything you did. She is depressed because she has depression. The things you listed are just the things her depression latched on to this time. If those things hadn’t happened, she would still be depressed, her brain just would have found different reasons. None of that helps with you feeling guilty about the things she said. But I wanted to say it anyway.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.ca•Whats the best Windows programming IDE/editor that can run all the different languages, preferably lighterweight if posible?English
2·5 months agoI think the closest you will get is VSCode with the Code Runner extension. Not as lightweight, but probably as light as you will get in Windows.

1·5 months agoThe track is too wet to use the slicks. So they have to use tires made for driving in wet conditions. Green tires for a little wet. Blue tires for really wet.
If you don’t connect the LG to the network it can be just a dumb monitor. Set the tv to always use the last active input when you turn it on and you will never see a menu or any prompts.

news@lemmings.world•US speaker warns of 'one of the longest shutdowns,' says he 'won't negotiate' with DemocratsEnglish
7·6 months agoIn the narrowest reading of the article, maybe. But as I said the House already passed their bill. It is in the Senate’s hands now. But since the Senate requires a supermajority, they need some level of Dem support to pass it. And since anything the Senate passes would have to go back to the House for reconciliation, House leadership is very much involved in those negotiations (or lack thereof) since they would have to line up support in their own chamber. And that is what the article is talking about. Not just the House, but the negotiations as a whole and Johnson’s part in it. (Or refusal to participate as seems to be the case.)

111·6 months agoYes and no. That is true in the House. And the Republicans have passed a version of the bill in the House. The Senate, OTOH, requires 60 votes for a measure to pass. So they need at least 7 votes from non-GOP members to pass anything.
If you are taking a flight in the morning, could you spend the night in the airport?
Do we know what happened to Colapinto?
If the roads are truly highways, you will want to check the laws where you are to confirm if it is legal to ride your bike on those roads. Typically, bikes are not allowed on highways. Regardless, you may want to see if there is an alternate route available. Riding on high speed roads with moderate to heavy traffic is not something I like to do if there is a different option available.
As someone else suggested, a gravel bike may be a good option. Personally I would avoid an e-bike. Nothing wrong with them, but if the goal is to get exercise, then why get a bike that is designed to minimize the amount of work you have to do? It will be tougher in the beginning while you get used to it, but once you do, you’ll be fine.
By far, the single most valuable resource available to new riders is a good local bike store. Find one and talk to them about what you’re trying to do. They’ll be able to make recommendations that are right for you. They’ll also be familiar with the roads in your area and be able to offer good advice about potential routes.

I would first have a conversation to find out if selling is something they’d be open to. If they aren’t interested in selling, you might see if they’d be open to doing a deal where you pay them a fee for right of first refusal. That way if they ever do decide they want to sell, you will get first crack at it.
Affect? Probably. Eliminate all together? Not at all. Some companies will care. Some companies won’t even notice.
If it’s floating you aren’t getting all the air out of the bag. If you sous vide regularly, it may be worth investing in a vacuum sealer. If you don’t want to do that there’s all sorts of videos that show different techniques for getting the air out. Experiment and find one that works well for you.
What was the most surprising or unexpected part of filming the show?
Sounds like someone is jealous he’s not the one in Trump’s ear anymore.

6·1 year agoRecently bought a new LG. I have not connected it to the network and have it set to automatically return to the last input on startup rather than go to the home screen. May as well just be a really big monitor at this point, which is perfect. I never see the LG interface and it never prompts me for anything.

Sounds like Will is either waiting for you to “take the hint” and move on so he doesn’t have to be the one to end it or wants to keep you around as a backup in case things don’t work out with Dave. Whatever his intentions, he is clearly not prioritizing your relationship, which begs the question do you really want to be with someone who doesn’t consider you to be a priority in his life?
