Same. Seems more like a feature yet to be inplemented. I click on the reply header, it takes me to the post and then I have to find the comment to reply to it.

Edit: Sorry, I’m stupid. You need to long press on the reply to open up the toolbar which let’s you comment.

What do you mean synced posts? If instance 1 and instance 2 ar federated, do they each have a copy of the other’s data?

Not as far as I know. But you can view all communities of all instances here, if that helps
