5·1 month agoWhat the fuck was the justification here?
Who’s out here saying Ukraine should bomb “all the cities”? Most people from the first frame of OP would also be saying stop the bombing, not bomb more. E.g. stop the bombing of Palestine etc.

5·2 months agoAll of the quotes in this article like “obviously we’re going to kill some innocent people as collateral damage, nothing can be done” are fucking horrifying, as if mass deportations are critical to the functioning of our society. I hope every one of the people saying these things suffer a worse fate than they wish on others
And here I was thinking I’d be original

I don’t feel like leaving the records in-table is that terrible. Maybe even partition on the deleted-at column to keep the performance impact minimal. The benefit of simplicity massively outweighs the rest for me
Considering the 2nd amendment has already been trampled, protesters can no longer reasonably open or concealed carry firearms. I know I wouldn’t want to be unarmed anywhere near an ICE agent but showing up with a rifle on my back would be illegal, brandishing, and I’d be instakilled before I got anywhere near a protest. Not much good to anyone.
Thanks to the racists that shut down the black Panthers and neutered the 2nd amendment, it is exceptionally difficult to defend yourself while peacefully assembling.
In other words, yes, the upper panel is correct, the 2nd amendment should be upheld and we should be able to bear arms in these protests. The lower panel is also correct in that it has not been upheld and we are now not able to defend ourselves as effectively against tyranny.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•What a joke, can't believe people still voluntarily use this OS
10·3 months agoExcept the code covers SUCH a vague issue that it’s useless. Not very precise when any issue with the store gives you the same code. Maybe it couldn’t find a DNS record for the online store. Maybe its local db is corrupt. Maybe it’s been locked out administratively. Doesn’t matter which root cause, same error code, so it’s not a “precise” error code.
These may not be the case in this instance, but in many, many other instances, it sure has been

3·3 months agoHell yes. HDR is awesome when it works well, and I’d love to see actual HDR photography take off (not the weird contrast enhancement type stuff that exploded years ago). Coupled with wide gamut, most of our displays are not being utilized anywhere near their real capacity.
Complicates the hell out of color management though
A policy of appeasement certainly can be worse than nothing
