Short answer is yes. Long answer is that with text it’s much easier to stamp out illegal activity because keyword searches are cheap while semantic searches in images are pretty good but extremely computationally expensive. You can’t just scan for illegal activity in images the same way you can nigh instantly scan a body of text for “illegal-site.com”.

Do you have a link? Searching for “Two Player Game” results in what looks like lots of shovelware.
Upside: Easy as pie and can be used by anyone who has used Dropbox/OneDrive/GDrive/whatever
Downside: everyone gets a copy of every file regardless. Good luck getting rid of old files. Could be fine, though.
Funny story, in between my original comment and now I actually got to do some Planechase and it was uhhhhh. Well let’s say that good company made light of a crummy start to the game. I had played my first lands on my turn one having kept a hand with two lands and two 2-cost rocks and other ramp. Anyway on someone else’s turn two they flipped into the plane that did [[Warp World]]. I spent at least five turns waiting for a second land so that was… Something.
I’d still play Planechase ever but definitely only sometimes.

MTG: EDH / Commander•Is this deck good for beginners? - UG Self Mill (Slogurk, the Overslime)English
2·3 years agoYa there are definitely seemingly random cards in there. Some of that is the precon effect where there’s definitely some minimum amount of synergy but also some big things that don’t require the synergy engine to be going.
I had forgotten about Perennial Behemoth and Conduit of Worlds so I’ll have to pick those up!
Well there’s the problem
Reddit, which is based in San Francisco, has in recent years tried to turn from a rough-and-tumble internet message board into a full-fledged social media business by adding executives and strengthening its advertising capabilities.
Everyone should probably read the most popular religious text in their region to better understand the culture around them.

Ask Lemmy•Is there a way to make Lemmy links open in a new browser tab?English

Seconding Smart Launcher. Automatic categorization beats pretty much every other feature I can think of in a launcher.
I try to treat my devices as commitments as far as spending but disposable as far as usage habits and not having invent my own categories helps me just USE my phone instead of playing with it.
I think my phone is pretty simple. I don’t pay any mobile games, I have my PC for that. It’s my camera and my communications hub when I’m outside the house. I prefer a full keyboard and a full sized screen for Serious Work ™.
The biggest problem with my phone is the ability to scroll social feeds but even then I find myself clicking on something weird or random and just putting my phone when I’m no longer using it for something focused.

1·3 years agoWouldn’t the bottleneck be network latency rather than disk read/write latency? Newer games might expect to do disk IO more frequently than older games made for an era of slower disks.

Commander@mtgzone.com•June 2023 Commander Quarterly Update: No Changes; Orcish Bowmasters and Mirkwood Bats on watchlist
1·3 years agoThe RC is talking about people talking about those cards. Bowmasters because it’s extremely good AND punishes the same thing [[Hullbreacher]] punished.
Bats is of potential concern because of the sheer density of token creation in recent Magic design.
There’s a lot of the toupee fallacy around AI. “AI is powerful and changing the world because it’s displacing artists but also nothing to worry about because it can’t write a real recipe.”
Too much discussion around AI is tunnel visioned on today’s versions of technologies in a toupée fallacy sense and not on what is essentially a question of philosophy: How do you truly control something that’s smarter than you?
If you believe that human intelligence is the product of physical mechanisms that exist in the brain then you necessarily believe that a synthetic system could do the “same” thing but better, that an artificial superintelligence is possible. Current technologies being abused by individuals/corporations/nations is an old story and a familiar danger. This one is new.
AI safety researchers are thankfully already exploring this area. Whether the answer to the big question is in favor of humanity is another matter.
Where are those being considered for a ban?
We’ve been following the community’s discussions and concerns surrounding Orcish Bowmasters, and – to a lesser extent – Mirkwood Bats. With the help of the Commander Advisory Group, we’ll be observing how and if those discussions change over time as people play and play against these cards.

Wow, really? I guess that unfortunately makes sense. I have a dock for my work laptop that charges and works for HDMI/etc but it uses an entire two USB-C ports at once.
