Ummm, this is a pretty fucked up series of incidents with people who have very high security clearances and access to sensitive info from related fields.
It seems hard to know if it’s actually anomalous though. If you’re looking at all “specialists in aerospace, defense and laboratory research” in the USA, how many people would that be and at what rate would you expect disappearances/deaths? The timeframe of events does look quite short but it’s surely very few incidents compared to the entire US population over that period.
I misread “mystery over” as “mystery solved” instead of “mystery about”.

This isn’t exactly a “mystery”, they’re obviously being killed to stop or slow their research. The only mystery is who exactly and how.
Remember that “UFO” research is essentially military intelligence.
