Knowing exactly how much money a large office space costs and constantly coming in only to see it very empty makes them want to see it used more.

That is an argument to downsize at lower cost, not to return to the office.

Face to face communication is better than the alternative. Full stop.

Absolutely not. Teams calls with ability to share screen are superior to face to face meetings. Teams meetings take less time, are more efficient and more convenient. Camera is needed.

The executive mindset is probably that people goof off less in the office.

This is about managerial oversight and individual staff.

If you want to lay people off, forcing RTO is a good way to get people to leave voluntarily.

It is not. If you want to make people redundant, you need to target crap workers, not good workers. And it is good workers which are more likely to leave if you try to force them back.

There’s likely a sense of “the way things have always been done” being inherently better in the minds of some executives pushing RTO.

    Sadly, but it is irrational.

then you have weird framing problems that has us finding progressives fighting each other, because they’ve created oversimplified heuristic ideas of the larger or more complex reality than has been represented by their narrow, and likely emotionally salient local environment. this can be exploited to make people fight each-other when they don’t actually have a reason to, purely because they cannot broaden their understanding of both their local and the other person’s environment simultaneously. especially when there is social pressure to prove your are not behaving like “the enemy,” otherwise you get ostracized. this is also often due to local groups ‘creating’ their own reality

    Wow. Spot on

My “behaviour” stopped to be a “topic” since I was 15.

You remind me of a freeloader coming to a party, complaining about a booze someone else did bring and acting all surprised when he is told to bring his own.

You don’t like my booze? Bring your own, (ie start contributing) and stop drinking mine (ie mute and move with your life).

    Goodbye.

    That’s adorable but naive.

I know it may come to you as a shock but nobody comes here to read your comments. Ergo, you are not contributing.

Instead you are trying to lecture others what contributions are allowed. Start contributing yourself and then we can have a discussion about the value of each other contribution.

    It’s not a block button. It’s a mute button.

Which means he won’t be able to see what he doesn’t like.

A block would work the way it does on places like Tumblr where regardless of who blocks who they accounts can no longer interact or see each other.

Agreed - I wouldn’t mind blocking people to stop them complaining (I tried!) but it is sadly not an option. They need to use block button themselves.

. I do care that the comics you post are having a detrimental effect on the community

    No, that’s not true.

you don’t seem to care about that

    Also not true.

If you’re not here to build the community

I am pretty sure this community would welcome yours and other complainers contribution, ie more comic strips. Sadly, I noticed more vocal people are with downvoting and complaining, less strips they contribute.
