Same! I even enjoyed it somewhat. But they did nothing to restore my lost faith after the prequels.
Should’ve just filmed the Thrawn trilogy. Nobody needed yet another Death Star rehash.

Nah, it’s way easier to send a satellite to take a look.
It’s impossible to secretly launch enough payloads to build a moonbase in the first place. Every launch has to pass through low earth orbit and rockets are shiny. There are too many eyes on the sky to go unnoticed. Even then, there’d be radio chatter between the Earth and Moon, and satellite redirection from the far side. You can encrypt radio signals, but they can’t hide.

That’s because they were authoritarian, not socialist. Just like the Nazis called themselves socialist, despite being obviously authoritarian. Same way that American fascists love to co-opt and redefine words like “liberty, freedom, grooming,” etc.
Your pub may be older, but don’t pretend your house is in order. Your culture is being manipulated, exploited, and ruined the same ways as ours, and by the same class of elitist psychopaths. Frankly, appealing to the fact that your society has several centuries on ours gives you even less of an excuse.

These are exactly the times when such people rise. Support one. Be one.
Kat Abugazaleh just ran one of the best campaigns in American history. She did it with hardly any connections or personal wealth. She started up a mutual aid office. She changed the narrative. She was beaten only by a concerted effort by AIPAC. She set a model for how ordinary people can push change. Graham Plattner is attempting to do the same in Maine. He also has a pretty good shot.
Look, if you don’t like the idea, it ain’t for you. I was just trying to encourage you by throwing whatever ideas against the wall to see what sticks.

It’s more useful to avoid doing things to make high value targets. Power must be democratized, not centralized and concentrated. Make too many low value targets to be worth destroying, and your nation will be all the better for it.
That’s a real person? I don’t know… wait is that the one guy who never showers and has roaches crawling on him?

They can colonize the sea. 200 miles out ought to do.

Things seem to be changing around that sort of thing. And I wasn’t suggesting high office. Like, any office. But I also suggested working for a campaign, getting behind someone decent who might run in your area.

It’s certainly possible, but doubtfully scalable for a global fleet of EVs. It still doesn’t solve the problems around strip mining rare elements. Trains and busses powered by overhead wires work fantastic and don’t need any of that.

Have you considered running for office, or working for someone who is?

Agreed. Right now I’m just trying to keep this one person alive though.

Electrolysis is extremely energy intensive. While it’s possible, it isn’t anywhere near as scalable or efficient as electric trains or busses, which can simply be powered directly from the grid. No need for expensive hydrogen or rare, toxic, and politically tenuous elements for batteries.

What is the source of green hydrogen?

Trouble is, ain’t nobody gonna listen to anybody talking like that.

There’s always tomorrow.
You’re pretending that America can’t be turned into a place with similarities to N. Korea, when the wealthy and powerful are clearly trying to steer us that direction. Yes, it’s perfectly valid to draw such comparisons, especially when we are using them as a warning for ourselves.

Take what you can. Give nothing back!

The only action of yours we can see is your attempt to discourage others who are in fact doing something. Put up or shut up.

First step is just to outlive Trump. You want to live long enough to see that worthless piece of shit in the ground. It shouldn’t take too long. Then pick the next piece of shit to outlive. Spite is useful.
A single blindfold could improve that picture greatly.
