3·1 month agoDo you have any budget you are aiming for? Also, where are you based?
I’m not using much my DE razors anymore, but there are very good ones around. Contrary to @LOLseas@lemmy.zip, I rather like my Merkur 34C. I mostly use a GreenCult II with the 2 plate theses days (which is closed comb, and very efficient), and sometimes an open comb Mühle 41. Generally, consensus seems to be AFAIK that efficiency and closed vs. open comb are rather orthogonal.

I bought Floid The Genuine aftershave again. Why did I ever not have any? This is arguably the greatest aftershave ever.
Have a good day!

5·2 months agoAny thoughts?
Many of those, but few relevant and zero knowledgeable ones.
Here in the E of U, old cars are generally heavily disincentivized (use too much gas, often of the wrong type , too polluting, so you can’t go everywhere in consequence…)

5·2 months agoAYLM is a bit overpriced IMO (depends also where you are based), but the hard base is an improvement over their previous soft base. Their scents are good though and original, in a not so classic way. They have great gourmands.
I find the SV base is one of the best around. Most of their scents are dupes AFAIK, but really flawless. Also, contrary to AYLM, you can be sure that there’s no menthol in it.
SV is the safe bet, AYLM if you feel adventurous.
Edit: Koké is quite something - bewildering first contact, but great once you get used to it.

This is my 3rd or 4th shave with this brush, and they all have been rather rough. I guess I’m getting brushburn, and since it is a sythetic, this is probably not getting any better over time. Anyone of you knowing a way to soften up a synth?
Have a good day!

4·2 months agoI have no lanolin sensitivity, but I have experienced frag burn in some soaps. Generally, bowl lathering helps reducing the problem, but ultimately, its probably better to avoid the product.
