I struggle to get myself to wear sunscreen, and that keeps me from pain and death! No makeup for me, lol. When I had some interest in makeup, I eventually got used to it, but the interest is gone.
It sucks you have to wear makeup to avoid comments. IMO, it should be an entirely neutral choice and other people can mind their own business.

It would probably take a lot of work to make like a wizard for low tech people to use for jailbreaking, right? A relative has brain damage and used to be tech savvy but now gets uneasy about things like that. I could jailbreak it for her, specifically, but I keep thinking about people in her situation who were early adopters of ebooks and would love to keep using the same device but can’t do steps like that anymore.

The bit in the original article where they said many younger patients lack common risk factors threw me for a loop when I was mentally already theorizing.
No one knows what’s causing the rise in cases in younger adults. But Georgetown’s Marshall said many young patients lack common risk factors. He wonders if changes in young people’s gut bacteria — the microbiome — might play a role.
Still no real answer to this question, then. The article lists risk factors but the younger people don’t necessarily have them. Increasing exercise if you’re sedentary might help. Speculation on my part feels wrong when people who have studied this for years are still speculating, themselves.

It must have sucked for your dad but part of me is happy that those sitcoms didn’t entirely lie to me.
I remember I felt I missed something because my mom explained the specifics of menstruation to me and school went into more detail about sex and reproduction. Despite what sitcoms were telling me, no one ever sat me down and said anything about birds or bees. I guess I hoped there was a weird pre-written speech parents awkwardly tried to recall when their kids got to a certain age.
It’s not ideal, but keeping food on the table, a roof over your head, and light/heat running are going to be bigger priorities than worrying about a tomorrow that might not come, anyway.
