A foundation is for a base coat all over, then put concealer over blemishes, shadows, under the eyes, etc. I also use blush to put back color in the cheeks, chin, and around the nose, then dust it all over with a transparent powder :3

All of that is a separate issue to the author’s transphobic views, and not a decisive factor on whether the book series as a whole is bad - it’s certainly nostalgic for me, and mostly an enjoyable read.
