This is interesting as every call center I have worked or been involved with has always had metrics of hold times and a whole group of managers doing call forecasting and manipulating schedules to ensure a target of average hold times, average handle times, and average not ready states for their workers. I feel like HP is taking heat for something that every single company is guilty of. All companies want to encourage self-service, to the point of eliminating tools for agents to assist the customer, forcing them to refer the customer back to the app or website to complete transactions. Callcenter workers are a constant cost center and companies are trying anything to avoid paying.

Anything that had that email would’ve been from my teens to early 20’s since I ended up with a Gmail account in like the 3rd wave of beta invites. That was my grown up email, and so anything of value is there while the Hotmail only gets spam and ms updates. But can definitely appreciate sticking with 1 account, since I’ve not swapped emails since my early 20’s for the same reason you describe.

I’m with you there. I still have my cringe edgy 1998 Hotmail login that has morphed into the credentials for all my Microslop dealings, I never use it for mail, but I have unfortunately had to give it to people professionally during some azure related training and onsite sales pitches.

This week I saw my 3 machine cluster flailing trying to stay online, digging around identified it as an issue with communication with my NAS. It was running NFS3 and so I swapped that to NFS4.1 and did some tuning and now my services have never been faster!
The 1800s would refute the first claim, Hughes for the second, and wasn’t starship supposed to already have landed on the moon by now? His vision is knowing a sucker when he sees one.
I’m on fiber and my provider being a dusty DSL provider decided to use PPPoE over fiber. I got migrated to their sibling company which supposedly doesn’t need that nonsense, but they haven’t removed the requirement yet and I might need an entirely different NID for it. It’s all horribly annoying

I often take little exploratory searches for some of my favorite genres in foreign languages, though the ones I remember the most tend to split between English and the other language. Stuff like Tomcraft and Sido
Metal Band-maid
Just some incredible and fun music out there when you explore the world.

Same here, been using premium since it was bundled with google music when that was a thing. Aside from the creators sponsors, I never received a single ad as long as I was signed in properly to my account.

I love my wfh arrangement, my workplace is trying to go back to hybrid with higher percentage onsite, thankfully/unfortunately I have some chronic illnesses that prevent me from coming into the office without putting my health at risk, so full remote I stay and I crush every developer story they give me so they are plenty pleased
Pretty sure they must be related, considering yes radio shack sold that stuff as well, and they sold Tandy computers

The bearded image looks like Tim Allen
I think the last one is that she lacks Vision, cause Vision got killed

Yep move all the mainstream media out of that left column.
Just got back from Alaska, my 2nd kid was born, my wife got her first job in her career field, had to vacate a house that I was rent to own due to a busted foundation and being at the bottom of the hill so got super flooded and found black mold in the basement. Played a crap ton of halo 3. Started work at a NOC after completing my associates. Wasn’t a terrible year just a couple snags. I think my wife became disabled from her maladies at the end of this year as well. Things got pretty scary in the following year for us.
Everyday is a Linux party here! Been running gentoo for like 20 years on my server box, which has now grown a couple more boxes in swarm config and my wife’s machine is now mint.
For me I think I enjoyed 98, XP, 7 it was nearly Star Trek rules every other edition was ok. 7 was the culmination of the best of. But absolute shit ever since. Honestly wish I could just go back to 7 for anything that requires windows( I try to stay away from it whenever possible)
Funny enough I got 7 ultimate for free by having a Microsoft themed Tupperware party and using their party invite platform. They sent me a box with free copy and ms colored streamers and windows 7 napkins. I still have the napkins new and sealed. Had to take like 4 pictures with my friends around a laptop I think. Not a bad trade for the best version of 7. I don’t think they’d ever get people to do the same for the newer OS’s. 7 was one of the good ones
I just lost my ATI X1950XT yesterday after I bumped it installing a replacement HDD into my home servers raid cluster. RIP 20 year old GPU, you had a commendable service life
Those c64 1541 drives could make an unholy racket sometimes, I recall some sneakernet software cloning tools making it sound like a jackhammer
