It’s just more American exceptionalism.
They can’t help themselves. In their mind, nobody knows (or cares) about anything outside of the USA.

People who know me, they know my views, and my views have not changed.
Does that include her anti-vax views?
Or her anti abortion views?
Or her pro “conversion therapy” views?
.
As much as I like seeing people publicly reject PP, I’m not thrilled at having someone with her regressive social policy history in government.

A lesson that will set us back at least 50 years.
At least.

I’m sure the US isn’t happy about anything that makes others less dependent on them.
And I really don’t care.
They have given other countries a lot of very good reasons to extract ourselves from the US’s influence.
I voted conservative once. Never again
Same. Back when Joe Clark became P.M.

He’s had power for too long and is entering the “power corrupts” phase.
Entering?
He has been there for years.

If someone this batshit is running from PP, how much more insane is the remaining core of the CPC?

But, again, they aren’t the only ones in that category.

“HSI special agents do not conduct operational activities in Canada, such as making arrests or executing search warrants," the spokesperson said.
Then there’s no reason for those fuckers to be here at all.

Why is BYD the only Chinese EV company that people talk about? There are other options that are just as good (and by many measures better).

We deserve better.
And of course PP wasn’t even a choice.
The thing about elections is, we have to make the best choice we can from the available options at that time.
And, given the options available during the last election, Carney was the more rational choice.

While the Cancon regulations were a level of protection from that overwhelming presence, they didn’t go far enough (IMHO)
I have long advocated for the cable TV foreign carriage regulations to require no more than 30% of international channels to be from any single country. That would have reduced the overwhelming impact that American “culture” has had on Canada.
Alas, with cable’s growing irrelevance, that opportunity is long gone.

Of course anyone with the inclination to actually obey the law has been purged from the chain of command

20 years ago when Scott Adams was still a moderately sane human.

As a Canadian, I would be fine with an EU based system that works globally.

I really hope some non-US controlled credit card issuers and processors start to exist soon.
The entire US financial system seems like such a risk to participate in these days.

The big question is what happens when they are no longer supply constrained.
I can’t see that happening unless the AI bubble pops and their insatiable demand for more hardware ends.

The initial sales markets are EU, UK, Switzerland and Norway. Entering other markets, such as the U.S. and Canada are to be decided due course
So the same availability as the other non- apple and non-google offerings.
I guess my options to get a user respecting phone include picking one up if I vacation in Europe one day…
The orphan wells fund exists.
It’s just underfunded and overwhelmed
