about

LINE_153

Prolific Danish artist øjeRum returns to LINE five years after 'on the swollen lips of the horizon' (LINE_103) with the four gorgeous pieces—selected and sequenced with Richard Chartier—that make up 'Cut Paper Flowers.'

'Cut Paper Flowers' takes place in an imaginary garden both familiar and artificial in nature. Acoustic and electronic elements dwell in a dreamlike state where everything unfolds in and of itself, without any of the components being constrained or dominated by others. Equally tranquil and unrestful, organic and disparate, it welcomes dualities and opposites. The flowers growing here are made of organs and paper, vegetative and surreal, nourished by insects and sine waves.

Hypnotic cyclical emotive gestures for those who love the languid sounds of LINE artists like William Basinski, Tu M', Triac, Olivier Alary, Simonel, and Savvas Metaxas.
