(A fist, poem by Andrew Mallinson) This body soft, weak at times still at times rigid. tensed, repositioned at the hinge on a cusp it's fucking, hard. pressed against this porus surface opaque, coarse solid. I wondered, can you carve a canyon into an abyss? a deep gorge with a river flowing through it. someone came and terraformed my mind, I need a river running through me. how many ropes does it take to swing over a canyon as wide as my clenched fist? how many knots tied tight? the distance from this side to the other isn't clear yet, the distance from my elbow to my knuckle is - One can't hurt to get this fleeting feeling oh, it's the narcissist spell On the verge of relapse kissed your red eyelids Somehow safe in his violence With the lightest touch from the skin to the pit With the lightest touch let the devil in I cannot hide it I wanna taste his bittersweetness again I cannot doubt it, it's the narcissist spell I don't care give me death love and protection It's just the spell of death

Nothing means anything Nothing means anything anymore Nothing means anything Nothing means anything anymore Nothing means anything All is dark and you're gone Climb the walls every night As this heart of mine cries
3.
Wrong Places 03:44
Take my hand Dwell on it until it breaks Til it breaks or fades away Boy you're so sweet Soon this will fade away Take my hand Follow me To the land that we keep Soon this will fade away
4.
Affection 05:00
A petal or a blade gardens in the skin I want to find out where your body begins But my hands meet your guillotine Scar by scar a path is marked in the skin Count the wounds that made a man out of him I want to read you through your sins Lonesome river made me drown I just let it take over me Days behind drag me down How do I break the bond that rose me up to let me fall? You always go where I bleed You always go where I bleed There's no hope in our dreams There's no light in our sins They're too dark to forgive You always go where I bleed You always go where I bleed
5.
Scolopendra 04:59
So young, so pure we know that you're so tired of it all Within or gone, within or gone Taking it in and breathing it out So hold it in, then breathe it out The stars, the moon they're gone but the faith, you have it all Within or gone, within or gone Breathe in, breathe out, stay calm, let out, let go, fill out, you're here, it's now Tonight we kneel down to God Within or gone Within or gone

about

Lys Morke's (AKA Irene Talló) debut EP 'Knife Therapy' also marks the artist's Artoffact Records debut! Coming while Lys Morke is in the midst of a tour with The Cult, the EP is a thrilling preview of what's to come from this rising star.

On 'Knife Therapy', Lys Morke opens up the doors for listeners to join her in a sonic realm of her own. Simultaneously forceful and delicate, the release is nothing short of pure confirmation that she is just getting started making waves and they're not going to be small ones. Pristine composition, style, delivery, and individuality are all at the forefront on this EP, which without doing so obviously, borrows from countless different genres, inside and out of the electronic world.

"Each song on this EP tells a story of desire, cruel love, or loss. It is an exercise in introspection and vulnerability that reflects the therapeutic process: feeling and materializing emotions to find and rebuild oneself. Nobody teaches us how to love and be loved, and discovering this can be a tumultuous process. Some of these tracks were written long ago, and I've come a long way since then, but I still relate to that younger Lys who dealt with so much frustration.

Despite being a very dark album, there’s a pulsating light within it; this drive to carry on, to understand myself better, and to heal.

I’ve been making music for a long time, but this is my debut EP as a solo artist, so it holds significant weight in my career. It opened the doors for me to join Artoffact and step into the music industry. I am deeply excited for what’s to come!" – Irene Talló
