Nurse Sara Peters said metal detectors haven’t stopped physical violence in the emergency department at Royal University Hospital and, while weapons are being screened, some are still making it in.

    The screening is a bit hit or miss. My partner had to go to emergency at RUH a few weeks back and I was merely asked if I was carrying anything sharp. When I left there were people coming in and they had to run their possessions through the x-ray machine.
