Yeah but that’s still having to crosspost across multiple communities, there are people who follow certain communities to get such relevant news, this is a reddit alternative after all, communities are a bit more than just hastags.

You would end up with duplicated, or fragmented news depending on which ones you ended up choosing, and people still treat which communities to post to as full posts rather than spamming hashtags.

True, they are all basically dead, I figured merging the user base and making it easier for people to choose which one to contribute to would allow it to gain traction faster, after all the largest one isn’t even India.

Waiting for something to gain traction before acting to initiate it could take a long time, especially if different people end up spontaneously contributing to a random one, or deciding it’s not worth it from the confusion and lack of activity/officiality.
