about
The first single from the album is “Burned Out,” which sounds like everything Ministry has done over the last four decades all rolled into one six-minute song — gurgling synths, drum machines, metal guitars, samples from the news, a reference to Vanilla Ice, and more.
Sample lyrics: “I’M NOT SURE IF THIS WORLD SURVIVES / I CAN’T TELL YOU WHAT’S TRUTH OR LIES / IT DOESN’T MATTER IF YOU’RE LEFT OR RIGHT / WE’RE ALL DEAD UNLESS WE ALL UNITE.”
lyrics
WELL THIS PLACE IS BATSHIT CRAZY
NOT A PLACE WHERE YOU WANNA BE
NO MATTER WHAT COUNTRY OR NATION
STILL STUCK IN THIS SOCIETY
BURNED OUT
I’M NOT SURE IF THIS WORLD SURVIVES
I CAN’T TELL YOU WHAT’S TRUTH OR LIES
IT DOESN’T MATTER IF YOU’RE LEFT OR RIGHT
WE’RE ALL DEAD UNLESS WE ALL UNITE
BURNED OUT
TODAY WAS AN AVALANCHE OF MADNESS
THE RUSSIAN-UKRAINE WAR IS NOW GOING INTO ITS 4TH YEAR
THE HUMANITARIAN CRISIS HAS REACHED A TIPPING POINT
IN GAZA, IN SUDAN, MYANMAR, VENEZUELA,
IN YEMEN, IN AFGHANISTAN, IN CUBA, IN HAITI,
IN IRAN, IN SYRIA, AGAIN?
AND IN AMERICA, WE DEAL WITH DOMESTIC TERRORISTS
CORRUPTION, ICE, ICE BABY
AND DON’T FORGET ABOUT THE EPSTEIN FILES
OBSTRUCTION, SHREDDED CONSTITUTION,
SOCIAL MEDIA POLLUTION, NO CLIMATE CHANGE SOLUTION
ONLY RETRIBUTION
AND STREET WIDE EXECUTIONS, EXECUTIONS
ICE, ICE, ICE, ICE, ICE, ICE, BABY
AND SOON TO BE NO FREEDOM OF SPEECH
BURNED OUT
MADNESS, MADNESS, MADNESS
WELL I’M SICK AND TIRED OF LIVING
IN A WORLD SO FULL OF SHIT
WELL LET’S NOT BE SO FORGIVING
‘CUZ THESE PARASITES NEVER QUIT
THERE’S NO ISOLATION
THERE’S NO PLACE TO HIDE
THEY WILL COME AND FIND YOU
YOUR SANITY DENIED
DENIED

LET GO is an absolute pleasure to listen to. KMFDM foregrounds their astounding ability to deconstruct and manipulate genres, morphing them into something new and unique. This album truly slays, from the first track to the last. KMFDM’s sword of industrial might is triumphantly held aloft, as usual! --N--
Industrial metal meets body horror on Uniform's fifth album, co-written by autB.R. Yaegar ("Negative Space") and Maggie Siebert ("Bonding"). Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 25, 2024
HYËNA is a wild, unpredictable, and untameable album — much like its namesake. I love how KMFDM utilizes diverse genres to make their sound something entirely unique and nigh impossible to pin down. As usual, the band deconstructs listeners’ expectations in an overtly tongue-in-cheek manner. --N--
