about

A raw Ambient/Minimal/Experimental Techno EP sampling corrupted vgm sounds fully produced with DarkAudacity (dark mode Audacity).
For the best listening experience use headphones or earphones.

Last year I've released a 3 track Ambient, Minimal Techno EP "Enter The Bunkers". It was received pretty well.
The EP got picked up by a blog post making an in depth review and one track got played on a community radio show in the UK.
Later that year I've made another Ambient/Minimal Techno track for the compilation album NOTORIOUS. That track returns with a VIP mix on this EP.

What makes producing music in Audacity different than more advanced DAWs like Ableton or FL Studio (which I mainly use)?
Audacity does not provide the guardrails you normally have in the more advanced DAWs. You have to create your own guardrails.
You have way less flexibility. For example you cannot edit/undo effects like reverb or low/high-pass filters once you move on.
I had to load the tracks into FL Studio to discover the BPM. In case you're interested in the BPM numbers:

Dangerous Mutants: 130.015 (rounded: 130) BPM
Creeping Critters: 127.584 (rounded: 127.6) BPM
Closer And Closer To The Surface (VIP): 130.975 (rounded: 131) BPM
Exterminated: 116.020 (rounded: 116) BPM

Ambient samples are corrupted vgm sounds from multiple games. Samples:

__Dangerous Mutants__
Tetrisphere (N64) (dark ambient bass sounds)
Ape Escape (PS1) (kick and pads)
Gran Turismo (PS1) corrupted SFX (high pitch siren like sound)
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater corrupted SFX (reverby impact sounds)
Tetris & DR Mario (SNES) corrupted SFX (weird squigly noises and clicks on 2nd half)
--Note: Almost all sounds used in this track are from video games (mostly corrupted) except the top loop.

__Creeping Critters__
Earthbound (SNES) - Moonside Swing (ambient pads)
Hammerin Harry (GB) - corrupted bass
PlayStation 1 bios corrupted intro (crispy foley noise)
Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage (SNES) (noise sweeps 2nd half)
Audacity glitch SFX (creeping pitch rising SFX)

__Closer And Closer To The Surface (VIP)__
Revelations Persona (PS1) - Doctor (Losing Battle) (ambient pads)
Mario Party 3 (N64) corrupted SFX (wood block hit SFX warped into underwater sound effect)

__Exterminated__
PlayStation 1 bios corrupted intro (ambient, impact/snare, bass and synth sounds)
Audacity glitch SFX (high pitch glitchy SFXs)

Data manipulation put to sound

Mixing the sounds of vgm corruptions, glitch and noise into a wide variety of experimental musical cocktails.
