Worship 04:08
Temporary spark, headline heat, viral for a second, forgotten in a week. The hate and heartache is skin deep, It's superficial like worship of the weak. Don't stress cause I'm writing my will, turn doubt into debt, now I'm paying that bill. Keep the ladder burning while you're climbing uphill. Break your back, call that "free will." Come through from the back of my mind. Work yourself to nothing so the rest can be mine. Rise up from the back of the pack. If that makes me the problem, then the problem can last. Temporary spark, headline heat, viral for a second, forgotten in a week. Don't force it. Repeat.

Keeper 05:22
Smoke stacks. They sell us air in these little plastic bags, they call it free will, but I'm choking as it's falling flat. Sell it as freedom while they poison every view, the keeper keeps on smiling as he cuts in fucking two. Trap the daylight and stamp it with a pass, call it protection, but it rattles like a glass as it cracks. Call it free will while the weight breaks our backs, pump it up with poison and mark it clean on the bag. They map our lives out in a neat little graph, then call it "progress" while the ground underneath cracks. Carve the fallout in red, white, and blue, while the keeper keeps on smiling as he cuts our future in two. Clock every heartbeat and log every step, calling it security while claiming that it resets. Sell the last breath while the rest of us choke back. They sell a blessing dipped in rot and glue. The keeper keeps on smiling like the lie belongs to you. We should be grateful. We should be glad. Paint the wreckage gold and call it "coming back."

about

FOUR is the latest EP from Worcester, Massachusetts collective Mountain Man. A forlorn march through the desolation of our modern world, FOUR is frantic feeling paced by faithful rhythm and dour urgency.
Recorded by the band’s guitarist/vocalist Jesse Menard, mixed and mastered by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios and featuring additional guitar work on “Keeper” by Jake Woodruff of Defeater, Dreamtigers and Jagged City; Menard, drummer Patrick Murphy, bassist Christian Miller and vocalist Josh Smith once again test the outer edge of possibility in heavy music.
