I see no downside in the ladybugs behavior….
Unfortunately all we have around here are these imported japanese ladybugs that have no local predators. So in the spring and fall we have to fend off their invasion at a rate of ~50 caught a day around the house.
I wish.
That’s a meme, but the original pic shows the difference between ladybugs and the Asian ones. Lives outdoors are the normal non pest variety.

Yeah the rule of thumb is that if it’s in the house, it’s one of the Asian beetles.

They are not ladybugs. Technically, they are beetles, not bugs. “Ladybirds” is more correct.
They’re also not birds. Or ladies, for that matter.

What even are words? Pieces of long dead people’s thoughts, which we assemble as grim puppets to replicate our own thoughts in a form that we hope others will comprehend? To hell with this, return to grunts and screams.
“Bug” is not a technical term, it is a colloquial word used to describe all kinds of different insects, arachnids etc.
Tbpedantic, it’s also a technical term to describe certain species of insects that are not beetles, such as jewel bugs. We often say they are “true bugs” to show we’re not being general about it.

No the technical term for those are “Hemiptera”, “true bugs” is the colloquial name.
They are not driveways. Technically, they are parking streets, not driving streets. “Parkway” is more correct.

Where I live they’re called nine spotted lady beetles
