Autistic and ADHD, Im a huge nerd who loves researching whatever interests me that day. My lifetime passions range from AI(actual AI, not LLMs. I was working on AI a decade before LLMs hit he market), programming, inventing, educating, futurism, tech, space, and for the last couple years bioengineering. I use lemmy as my only “social media”, and even then i mostly use it for news or memes. I hate society as is it ableist, hippocritical, uncaring to those whose value cant be extracted, and most humans are pretty cringe. As such i have no desire for “social media”, it suffers from the exact same issues reality TV suffers from.
I do have a biological desire to socialize however, so i prefer to have a small group i am intensely devoted towards, whether that be friends, family, or a lover. If youre looking for a personal connection i would like for you to reach out, but if youre a guy then be forewarned: i will not respond to misogyny, i cant comfort you,

Hate to tell you this m8, but they just created an AI that can hack any system, can break its own containment, and can program AI better than any human. We’ve got maybe 2 years to live. I dont really think its likely anyone can stop it now, but had we done something about rampant capitalism about a decade ago we probably couldve hit post scarcity by now.

Ok, then you agree that we should be protecting childrens data? So then something like a bug bounty would’ve been an overall plus here? Kid gets to test his skills, a new vulnerability in the system gets found, and everyone wins.
The website was vulnerable, if he didnt do it someone more malicious wouldve. They shouldve offered a bug bounty if they actually cared about the data.

Ah cool, so the good people inherently outweigh the bad, hence we dont end up with massive systems of oppression? No? We universally end up oppressing people with every system of government and society that has ever been created? Oh.
Not really concerned about the sanctions, no one should be doing buisness with the US or US affiliated countries anyways, but the US withdrawing would be really swell.

Original commentor could’ve saved his breath, if people wanted to be educated on AI they have plenty of resources to do so but instead they choose to remain ill informed. The difference is that humans are capable of critical thinking and conceptual connection. We are just as prone to mistakes as AI, we just have a much higher apptitude for mistakes lol. Hence the goal not being to make a perfect AI, its a much more achievable goal of making AI’s that beat us in specific fields. Then to beat us in all fields.
