Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha

This is a short one, and spoiler free, this anime doesn't have very good animation, and the voice acting for the dub isnt very good either, but the story and character development was amazing, in my opinion this anime has a lot of personality to it its not a copy pasted concept with predictable story, its much better than that. The voice acting (dub) reminds me a little of ghost stories, careless and free. What stood out most in this anime was the fact that the MC wasnt your usual pathetic punchbag, who gets verbally mocked by all other tsundere characters, infact all the characters ... were always reasonable and acted fairly. I give it a 10 out of 10+

Even though this is technically a romance anime, by the time the final episode ends, it feels like we’re right back where we started—and honestly, I can’t disagree with anyone who points that out. This is a common issue in many romance series: the story aims to stretch beyond a single season, but lacks the depth or momentum to justify it.

The relationships in this anime move forward and backward so frequently that even major emotional moments fail to leave a lasting impact. At times, it feels like nothing truly changes, no matter what the characters go through. Ironically, I’ve seen fantasy or sci-fi anime tell ... more compelling and well-paced romance stories than this one.

On the brighter side, there were a few genuinely funny moments—I did find myself laughing here and there. So while the romantic development was weak, the comedy was at least passable.

Most basic reason: If i were asked "what romcoms would you recommend out there?" i dont really think i'd mention this one T_ T the first ep was promising but that was it for me, still i finished it til the very end hoping it would give something unique...

in my honest opinion i only got interested with episodes 1, then jump to 10, 11, 12. I was bored of the eps within those, i literally had to use split-screen to draw or game or whatever on the side, as i watched it... i guess i just really had high expectations of it but somewhere ... in the middle of the anime it felt as if they forgot about the whole point or goal of Sajo, or what the title was supposed to imply. I really couldnt get a clear message of what the anime wanted to to tell its audience, especially when they suddenly just inserted Sajo's narration at the very last scene saying his thoughts about dreams and reality within a few sentences. also i think the characters are sticking too loyal to their tropes and not have an actual unique characteristic to them? still i give it a 5 because it's decent afterall and the art style is really good.
