Thank you! You’re right, those who interacted under the premise of privacy must not be exposed.

Thank you! People could always make a second account on such an instance, maybe even an instance which kind of specializes in it and finds ways to deal with safety challenges.

The one account for all thing is often mentioned as a ‘selling point’, and as of now I think it’s rather ill-advised, setting up disappointment & possibly obershadowing a couple of nice things in that regard. A rather smooth part of the fediverse is that for example comments you read may stem from a lot of different corners, and writing one of those should work fine.

Regarding number of accounts you could experiment with a min or max approach first and then adapt based on your needs and experiences. You could re-use the first half of your handle, as the comment about identity suggested.

Oh, thank you very much, that’s very kind of you!

When I created the community I also unchecked the !newcommunities@lemmy.world -box. I will make a post there & suggest that people, who don’t speak German rather block the community than limit languages because of it & miss out on memes or sth.

Welcome! Have a good time! If you happen to speak German you may want to take a look at !digitales_weichenstellen@piefed.social
a brand new community about reducing digital dependencies on US/Big Tech. I started it but it’ll go nowhere without…becoming a community. It’s in German in order to also be a low-threshold offer for people new to the subject, e. g. curious because of the Digital Independence Day initiative.

Thank you very much for your answer! Maybe it was Photon then. Since it’s limited to some frontends and only a lookalike without the same functionality as Piefed’s flairs, I rather not confuse anybody with that.

I know this thing with Lemmy, where you originally post without selecting a language, and once you want to edit it, it forces you to select one. Could it be language-related? I only checked the box for German. That just may not have happened before on a piefed instance? Then again, I was able to edit the sidebar afterwards.

Thank you very much for responding so lightning fast and for looking into it!

Sorry, forgot to mention: I edited things a couple times yesterday without issues. This is new.
