I’m aware of my options. But switching 4 people who won’t install anything I ask them to is not a battle I’m going to fight over this.
I also think that it’s, for the most part, money that deserves to be paid. They, amazingly, still provide a product that I appreciate and use daily. It’s Google, so at some point there will come a tipping point where I decide it isn’t worth it, I’m sure.
While the $4 increase on my family plan gives a bit of “oof”, between YT Music use and just watching videos daily, it’s still worth what I’ll be paying. And yes, yes, I know I should degoogle more completely, but with a house full of teens, that just isn’t an option right now.
You say that like anyone considering stealing it would be a rational and semi-intelligent person. But this is America.
Preface: goodness do I hate scrum/agile, but…
It might help if you were to give some idea of how much work you think each would take. T-shirt sizing, as they like to say. I doubt anyone would want to see you sink tons of time into a low value feature.
For your own benefit, maybe add each feature as a top level comment. That way you can just sort by upvotes.
Yeah, I didn’t need anything more than the Docker features, so I didn’t bother with Zima. Like with Yuno, Zima is a whole distro on its own instead of an app that can be easily uninstalled.
Was it issues with installing apps or something else?
I will suggest CasaOS. It installs easily, then essentially has an app store (you can add other store sources too). For me it was a gentle way of getting used to the ideas around Docker and how to work with containers. After a bit, you’ll get to where you can set up containers for apps not in the store. Then you might create a whole stack for your Arrs suite. And then maybe you outgrow it entirely. It’s just an app, unlike Yuno, which is a whole distro if I recall correctly.
For public exposure, I use Cloudflare tunnels. Pretty easy to set up (there is a CasaOS package for cloudflared), though the Cloudflare side can get confusing depending on what you want to do.
I often keep Krusteaz around (habit from years of 3 small kids), but I don’t really care for it. It’s too sweet. I’d much rather use Bisquick or Jiffy.
Textra

Google would never just give up on a product that people love!
Yeah, I’m not worried about how it plays so much as how it feels. I’m old and I don’t want to strain to read tiny text.
I’ll tell you which games I’m most looking forward to revisiting:
- X-Men Legends
- Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and etc.
- Eternal Darkness
- Pikmin
- Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
And then a couple that I don’t think I ever played:
- Geist
- Sphinx & the Curse Mummy
This is pretty much the same setup I have. 2 bay Synology NAS for storage, mini PC (8gb ram, currently at 48% usage) for applications. Also added an external SSD that I had kicking around.
I’m running:
- gluetun
- sonarr
- radarr
- seerr
- Jellyfin
- deluge
- sabnzbd
- Navidrome
- audiobook shelf
- Calibre Web advanced
- komga
- adguard home (and sync)
- wiki.js
- zoraxy (reverse proxy)
- dockhand
- MeTube
- homarr
- dotdash
- freshrss
- mealie
And then using Synology packages for Drive and Photos.
I’m waiting (and waiting and waiting) on mine. I got it mostly for GameCube, but looking forward to some PSP and PS2 as well.
I went with the orange because I always wanted a Spice colored GC. This is as close as I will ever get.
How is Balatro on it? The game text is already so small.
Honestly, the tape idea is one of the most practical ones in the thread!
I love the 35xx series. I went up to the RG40V or whatever it is with 1 stick. it’s fine, but I wish I had kept my 35XX. It’s really just the perfect size and power of you’re looking for on-the-go retro gaming.
Yeah, I’m currently using Wiki.js. I will definitely check out how you’ve got things organized. It looks really good!
Without really knowing much about it, I just always figured it was overkill for me. Plus I don’t know that I’d even consider myself much more of a beginner with Docker. But you all are making me consider looking into it.
Ha. I’ve been reading through thinking, “Yeah, maybe I should finally look into Ansible.” And then I get here. :D
