Fyi, this article is a bit more in depth & critical. Ofc, itâs great that Magyar won, yet we all, and expecially the Hungarians, will need to wait and see how the new leadership turns out.
Idk specifically, maybe theh need a 2/3 majority? But according to the article Starmer might use an ancient bill to evade a parliamentary vote for closer EU ties.
I think you and I are very much saying the same thing
We are. Great minds think alike donât they? haha.# add Nice 2meetu.
Iâm getting really tired of this
Oh I get that this game has been going on for 1000 of years, and the same games are noticeable within half a lifetime or ealier if you wanna be honest.
and weâll get through this
For sure, after paying the price.
But, will we learn our lessons?
Then again, itâs was never about whoâs going to learn their lesson, as much as what you ( or I) will do about it this time around. And each one person should act in their own way. I think thatâs the real question, and answering that, is very tiresome.
I hate that so much. In the post World War II era, our country created an excellent legacy for diplomacy and world peace.
Yes that was quite a nice system in place Thatâs why so many people are rightfully angry now itâs beeing destroyed. In retrospect, itâs been going on for decades, and now we all( have to) see itâs culminating effect.
To me, thereâs actually much more going on and these politics are part of a broader geopolitical movement towards more authoritarian regimes & power to oligarchs. Thatâs very worrisome.
was always in favor of the EU, finding the whole idea fascinating.
Agreed, the European Project as some like to call it, is weirdly fascinating and to be part of history-in-the-making gives it extra dimension.
Trump who might get us kicked out of NATO somehow, the cunt.
Donât think the Reps will let him and his cult do that. But I think weâll definitely see a smaller role for USA. Someone called it Nato minus.
the uk trying to rejoin the eu?
Good question; Starmer, the UK PM and a lib , is sort of pro Europe, as is now the majority of the UK. Heâs not persĂ© full package EU , but he wants to partake in an important part of the trade & defense bit of Europe using the European Internal Market.
This bit is what the UK EU summit in the summer is probably about and weâll see how negotiations will go from there.
Whatâs interesting here, is that PM Starmer might evade a " Nay-â vote for closer EU cooperation via a special law trick in UKs Parliament by the Brexit parties & Conservatives .
a little distracted atm by what my own government is doing..
Yips, unfortunately so is the whole world.
I donât understand how more votes lead to less seats. Maybe Iâm reading it wrong.
Huh, Starmer has some cards up his sleeves:
" A new bill, which will bring into force the food and drink trade deal with the EU, will contain powers enabling the government to dynamically align with Europe on areas where it has already made agreements. But it will also allow the UK to quickly implement evolving single market rules if it determines it is in the national interest, without having to face full parliamentary scrutiny each time.(..)
But the Guardian understands that if the new bill âexpected to be introduced before the summerâ is passed, negotiators could seek to adopt EU rules on everything from cars to farming using secondary legislation. The move is possible under so-called Henry VIII powers..(..)
Polls have closed. Preliminary Survey from 21 research centre?, 2/3 wins voor Tisza. Awaiting further confirmation on this site though. #Add: First exitpolls expected around 20.00 CET.

Im happily using Le Chat/ Mistral (France) . It got recent extra funding via ASML ( The Netherlands). But yes Iâve have been advertising EU alternatives to friends, but many still stick to USA stuff. It will take some while to adapt.
Huh ?! tnx @ Ruud maybe add this link to the main post? this one doesnât require email etc (I used the Kofi link already).
The title isâŠsomething
In August 2025, Marla-Svenja Liebich, formerly known as Sven, failed to appear at the prison in the German town of Chemnitz, where she was to serve an 18-month jail term used to be a member of a neo-Nazi group called Blood and Honour.
July 2023, Liebich was sentenced by the Halle District Court in Saxon-Anhalt to a total of one year and six months in prison without parole for extreme right incitement to hatred, defamation, and insult.
But assuming everything goes well, Rutte will most likely be replaced with a ball buster and not a diplomat.
Probably Nato will continue to exist in one form or another and the job will need doing.
Theâ ballbuster " you mentioned, would be the position of EC defense minister or someone in similar position in (very) near future probably.
Russia wonât attack Europe any time soon. The war in Ukraine has already drawn them out so much. In the long term I do consider Russia a threat to Europe but right now theyâre not one really.
Ruzzia and Europe are in a hybrid war already. If you mean a full kinetic atack you should specify. Also, when considering a kinetic atack most European analysts believe somewhere within 5 years.
Smart solution. Never heard of it before. I wonder how much water such a rain fence can retain & release in a timely fashion.
âBut with flood events and rain bursts, the sewers simply cannot cope. âYou can better let it infiltrate the soil through green measures, bringing back natural elements in cities. And then, in times of heatwaves, that can lower temperatures,â he said.â
#add; The capacity of 1 Rainwinner easy modules: 180 liters . One column of 2 modules (90 cm. x 180 cm.): 360 liters sells for @ ⏠499,00. Still quite expensive imo, hope theyâll drop in time.
I donât think itâs propaganda, Ruzzians can hack too.
One tip , consider thatâ the standard formatâ is posting with the original title & newslink, and then comment below that for example. That way itâs easier to understand.
Also please elaborate what you mean about France is failing? I assume you mean failing in being anti racist because of new black st Denis mayor and or failing stopping extreme right?
A ménage à trois?
Probably Ă quattre.
Youâre forgetting the strong Chinese influence, police and money in Hungary. Its part of the Belt & Road Initiative.
I really hope that when Magyar wins, that the transition will be peaceful without any foreign interference. Was just imagining what would happen if OrbĂĄn goes Loekasjenko like in Belarus and calls for little green soldiers.
I wish our Hungarian brothers all the best and stand strong.
Fyi, this article is a bit more in depth & critical. Ofc, itâs great that Magyar won, yet we all, and expecially the Hungarians, will need to wait and see how the new leadership turns out.
Europe Looks For Reset With Hungary After Magyar's Stunning Victory (rferl.org)
Many hope that the stumbling blocks Orban erected will be removed, though there is also concern that Magyar, once a staunch loyalist of the defeated prime minister who split over anti-corruption concerns, wonât play ball all the time.

Iraq elects Kurdish politician Nizar Amidi as president amid war fallout (apnews.com)
BAGHDAD (AP) â Iraqâs parliament voted Saturday to elect Nizar Amidi, a political official with one of the countryâs two main Kurdish parties, as president, five months after a parliamentary election that didnât produce a bloc with a decisive majority.
