True, but that was for cost savings, not generally because it required doing so to get the life saving care not legal in the USA. The exception to this was in the years before Roe v Wade where Americans would “vacation aboard” to get a safe abortion.

I agree they have. I’ve been through them too and its scary to see what is becoming of our nation.

Arrested for seeking treatment for gender care? I’ll need to see a citation on that. Lets not unnecessarily scare off people that need the treatment from seeking it here in this thread.

I misread your post. You weren’t saying it is *happening*, but that it *might soon*.

I don’t disagree it might happen soon. Until then, I want the folks that need this healthcare to be able to get it until more bold options are needed.

Windsor Ontario is a not a long drive away from most places in Ohio. I would recommend Blair’s mom start a relationship with doctors there for her child’s continued health and well being with ongoing treatment.

I can’t believe I’m recommending Americans leave the country to get better healthcare abroad in 2026.

The concept is cool and it seems like it should be a no brainer, but it hasn’t proven more effective in practice commercially. Three companies have tried and failed to make air-launched rockets for placing satellites in orbit for commerical use.

Military is another ballgame though. Money doesn’t mean much against a military objective.

The article is mostly about the difficulties of government run public health systems in smaller countries being strained under the costs of the most expensive medicine on the market (pembrolizumab).

I got curious as to why the medicine was so expensive. Its a deep rabbit hole. In short, some of the high expense is justified because not only was it crazy expensive to develop and test, but even after that production is not easy. Its a monoclonal antibody product.

The good news is the primary patents expire in Europe in 2028, and there are already five companies working "biosimilars" .

There’s absolutely some predatory behavior from the drug maker Merck. This includes trying to reformulate to extend patent protection. A new behavior I hadn’t heard of was Merck has patented the dosage instructions of what is effective so to access that information you’d have to ask Merck for each patient. One clinical trial in India found they got similar pretty good patient outcomes by using a 2mg does instead of the perscribed 200mg dose.

So all of this suggests much more cost effective ways to create and administer the treatment in the next couple of years.

I wonder how quickly he’ll flee to Minsk or Moscow as soon as the details of his deeds in office are uncovered by the new administration.

Well, I’m running Asahi Linux on a Macbook which can’t boot from USB even if I wanted to.

However, if you’re really worried about state-level threat actors, like FBI or CIA, I don’t believe there is much you could do to protect yourself anyway. They likely have entire catalogs of unpublished and undisclosed side-band attack exploits they could draw from to gain access to your machine and execute a privilege escalation to install whatever they want.

Also great for making a first impression on a first date.

I don’t disagree. I’d say a majority of policy positions should generally be the go-to definition. What, in your opinion, are all the policy positions of the Democratic leadership that would represent the majority of their policies to arrive at calling them far-right?

As bad as the Democratic leadership can be sometimes, I don’t see them as bad as Le Pen or the AfD, which I’d both consider far-right. I also don’t see the USA Democrats being cozy with Putin. Those positions would be where the USA Republicans are, and hence they are far-right.

So Vance had failure of statesmenship in both negotiations with Iran and his desired support of fascist Orban in the Hungarian election.

Ladies and gentleman, the heir-apparent to the Republican party.

So… if he if he is a US citizen. Doesn’t that mean Mexico could deport him right back? 🤔

If he goes to the USA border from Mexico and is denied entry into the USA when he is a USA citizen, that’s the whole ballgame. Then citizenship means nothing.

Not that I give trump credit for any kind of forward thinking, but could this plan been made by someone smarter than him to bulldoze the current bunker so that he could claim that taxpayers need to build a bunker at MaraLago?

centre-right challenger Peter Magyar

Would that make his policy positions about on-par with the Democratic leadership in the USA?

SpaceX gets away with it and I honestly don’t know why

For the same reason all private spaceflight companies (like Firefly, Rocketlab, and Blue Origin) “get away with it”. Blown up rockets aren’t paid for by tax dollars. Private spaceflight customers, and yes, the government, only pays for successful launches.

bcz their contracts have been all government until pretty recently.

The contracts are for successful flights. If a SpaceX rocket blows up that was paid for by the government, the government (taxpayers) don’t pay for that launch.

Commercial spaceflight launches are much MUCH better finanical deal for taxpayers than the traditional NASA “cost-plus” contracts, SLS being the most recent example.

For some reason its very popular in Asia, according to my partner who is Thai and 23 years old.

Facebook subsidized mobile internet access specifically to facebook properties for a decade or so in many parts of the world. If you went to Google.com you’d get charged for mobile data. if you went to any Facebook company sites, it was free data. This is also why Whatapp is so embedded in many parts of the world. Text messages were charged, while Whatapp messages were free.

Its nice to see attire featured suitable for both a wedding, job interview, or court appearance.
