It's terrible. Boring, bad music, looks and sounds and feels cheap, and also the creator wants to add advertising to it, and also AI-assisted. Is there even one good quality?
Thank you for sharing your feedback. Could you go into more detail on how it "looks" cheap, and maybe what I can do in the future to make it look more visually appealing? I agree, the music isn't the best, but it was made by humans, like everything else in this game apart from the code. I apologize for the advertisements, I forgot to take those down from when the game was multiplayer and hosted elsewhere. When it wasn't making any money to support the server costs, I put it here so people could still play it for free. One more thing, could you tell me what height you got to?
Add like a skybox and maybe some shadows and it will look higher quality. Besides, make the jump more floaty cuz otherwise it is kinda ragey and annoying. Add more variety to the jumping, more mechanics, maybe like swinging from platform to platform, bouncy platforms, slippery platforms... What height did I get to? I actually don't remember... but not very high. Anyway, if you fix all that, I won't even care that the music is mediocre. Oh, and add something that stands out. Maybe a plot like "Mr Mark wants to go to heaven to marry an angel but he needs your help!!!!" and then he gets up there and is disappointed cuz its a biblically accurate angel, that would be rlly funny and would give the character a motive to do what he's doing and also make it more interesting to players bc they wanna get to the end and see them get married, right?
Thanks for the ideas. I can't really add them to this project, just because I've started working on a new game. Only Up was sort of just a test project so I could get familiar with using a new engine. I also sort of focused on the game running smoothly on any computer, getting a smooth frame rate on a Chromebook was kind of the ideal benchmark in terms of computer power. That's why the theme is low-poly and not realistic. On that same note though, in my next game I will be sure to add a better sky, at least with a sun, and something that will fit with the style of the rest of my assets. I do agree that a different movement system would be great for originality. I will definitely add one to my next game (a FPS) if I can think of something that's not crazy overused but can just add to my current one. I will also work on adding some kind of plot/puzzle to it as well, I'm not sure how well that fits into casual multiplayer, but I'm ready to try.
