I get it. People do things they normally never would think about when they get desperate. Maybe they think being on a sub or a mechanic out of combat they won’t have to actively hurt anyone while also providing for a wife and kids. People have a very black and white sense of things on here. Join military = bad no matter what no exceptions.

They cost money to open and run. Best case is a group of somewhat wealthy friends pool their money to start a co-op. Idk how lending policies are towards worker co-ops.

I worked in a metal fab shop and ppl talked about unionizing. I brought up a co-op or other employee owned models but they said 1 machine alone can easily be $500,000+ for a shitty used one and none of us could get that kind of money.

People buy houses all the time they can’t afford. Hidden costs, thinking taxes and insurance won’t shoot up, depending on the size might cost and arm and a leg to heat/cool.

There’s even a term called “house poor” when you buy a house but don’t have the money to furnish it so you just have big empty rooms.

Ok, I read through other comments and you’re right. There are people in here commenting that’s in not a gender issue at all which is kind of wild. I wasn’t very clear in my first comment that it’s both issues. Some people see the gender issue and think that’s all there is to it but you can also fit it through the “class issue” hole.

Yes. I guess I should’ve made that clear on my first comment. I was more commenting on how people seem to see that men are in these positions, so therefore it’s a gendered issue, and then they stop cuz they think they already understand the nature of the problem but there’s actually more going on than what might seem obvious on the surface.

I’m just sick of people getting distracted from class issues.
