I mean, scanning a well known piece of literature which likely exists online in its entirety is an obvious way to generate a false positive. This doesn’t mean that these tools can’t be useful. You need to understand how to use them. When it’s appropriate, what context, how much trust to attribute to it, and what other tools you might use along side it. At the end of the day, it’s up to the human to be informed, critical, and to form reasonable suspicions or judgements. This isn’t novel to AI use, but most tools.

According to most of the online “media” I’ve seen involving this dragon; I can confirm that both of those things are very true.

123·2 months agoWhen it comes to activism, I’ve often said that, ‘most people know the difference between a good vegan and a bad vegan’. Being insufferable, overbearing, or pushing discussions where they aren’t needed or wanted does nothing to help your cause, it usually does the opposite. When you talk to most people who ascribe to a certain political, lifestyle, or activist way of life, you’ll usually find that most of them are pretty normal and non-pervasive people; IE you may never even know those details without asking them. This goes for most things. Fitness enthusiast vs gym bro. Music/Media enjoyers vs gatekeepers. Activist who promote and provide good accurate information in a hands off way, vs those who push political messaging where it’s not wanted. Be a good vegan.

7·2 months agoI love how mask off they were in choosing Palantir as their dipshit company name. Like, “Yes, hello, you are now calling Anakin Skywalker’s Daycare Service. Are you looking to enroll your child.” Bet our political elite would love that one.

News@lemmy.world•ICE quietly bails on Super Bowl as outrage grows
33·2 months agoNah, let’s be honest. Immensely wealthy private companies foresee a potentially negative impact to profits if an event on the scale of the fucking Super Bowl is used as a dog and pony show/display of power by the current regime. Wealth is power, and when power talks, even authority listens.

3·2 months agoTrue. I guess I’m just jaded enough that I hope for anything other than “zero consequences for the officer; plus he’s still working as LEA somewhere” That shit’s actually terrifying

151·2 months agoI was JUST thinking about this. What a good time to hop on lemmy. Happy ending.
A word of caution. There are more than a few examples of LEA getting away with murder when they shot people who carried objects that look much less like a gun/weapon than a leaf blower. Not saying it’s right. Just saying it happens.

9·3 months agoYeah, I remember hearing the same thing now that you mention it. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if anything materializes from going that route. If nothing else, Trump at-least shouldn’t be able to pardon state charges, as far as I’m aware. So maybe there’s hope for accountability in there somewhere.

News@lemmy.world•Gov. Tim Walz encourages Minnesotans to film ICE agents for future prosecutions
39·3 months agoAt the risk of asking a stupid question. Is this really going to help now that Trump has demonstrated that his DOJ has the power to remove criminal investigations from a local level and reassign them to a federal level? Where they will then (Of course) refuse to even investigate let alone prosecute. Is there some other way to seek accountability right now? Or do we literally have to wait for the next administration to do anything with all the evidence being recorded right now?
