Lemon, lime bitters is an Australian staple for a non alcoholic drink if you’re in a pub. Refreshing and tasty.

Opensource@programming.dev•Cal.com Goes Closed Source: Why AI Security Is Forcing Our Decision
7·2 days agoAI being used to scan for vulnerabilities should not make a difference. The same AI that black hatters can use can be used bobwhite hat security.
Sure, it makes finding vulnerabilities easier in the short term but the concept of open source makes vulnerabilities less likely in the long term.
This is a bad call which will likely be damaging for them and for the community.

73·2 days agoI think the problem is less AI and more that we have loaded more and more cognitive tasks onto healthcare staff. Yes, they could manually work it out, given the time but they seek a short cut as they have so many other tasks.
A lot of those that hate AI thibknits making us stupider. I think its more a problem that we are all now required to have specialised knowledge of our role to a higher degree which pushes out more general knowledge. Then AI is seen as a useful tool to fill that gap or speed upthat gap.
The problem is not AI. The problem is AI is being used inappropriately. We should look at why, as well as trying to stop it. Doctors and nurses use lots of tricks and shortcuts to help calculate dosages for patients, based in heigjt, age, weight etc. It would be trivial(large trusted database of drugs and recommended dosages manually checked asose) to have a universal app that is not AI baser that does all that on any phone or computer. The problem.is it needs to be trusted, so not anyone could make one.

Looks like radius from Belfast and Dublin, the big cities, which had more immigration from the uk. However, that doesn’t explain north versus south which should skew differently if that was the case.

World News@lemmy.world•China Economy Grows 5% Year-on-Year in Q1, Beating ForecastsEnglish
151·3 days agoPeople have been accusing China of fabricating the data for years. I am sure there is inaccurate information, but no more so than anywhere else. If they were doing it to the level they are accused, their real economy and the phantom economy they created would be so disparate after 40 years of staggering growth that it would be obvious without unfounded accusation.
China seems to be doing very well at managing supply and moving their economy in strategically advantageous ways, while lifting hundreds of millions out of poverty and raising the living standards of hundreds of millions more. They also seem to be good at holding billionaires accountable. Unfortunately, their human right record and respect of minority cultures within China and outside China is awful. I wouldn’t want to live in China. I also wouldn’t want to live in the USA. If I was to be born poor or middle class, I’d prefer to be born in China, there would be more oppurtunity.

2·3 days agoI lost faith in people’s goodness around Covid times. I think it’s purely self interest, just like Covid. If they can’t eat and are angry, violence ensues. We’ve seen it throughout history. It’s why bread and circuses exists as a meme. The circus part is meant to satisfy blood lust or redirect anger.
Unfortunately for trump, the only circus is him and his cronies. Food prices are going to rise around the same time jobs are lost. Usually job losses leads to lower inflation, but in this case, it’s going to be caused by the reduced oil and thus reduced fertiliser. That’s the slow burn that will take a year to play out.
