Also if Russia joins the EU, the EU would be 2/3 Russia in terms of land mass and a quarter of the EU population would be a Russian citizen. Not sure if that is a good idea. Would give this one country way too much leverage and power inside the EU, especially once the Russian GDP per capita matches Germany or Netherlands. Advancements in space can advance humanity on Earth. Like practical solar panels were first created for a satellite. There are experiments that need to be done in low G or zero G like for material science, a permanent moon base could accelerate those advancements. Also experiments on bio printing living cells have been done on the ISS, zero G makes it easier to scaffold the cells into a structure. Maybe a moon base makes it easier to grow organs on an industrial scale.

There is no united front among the working class in the west. It’s because working class people who earn a middle income have been brainwashed to think they are “middle class” and thus think they are a separate group from the lower income workers. Like there are even white collar office workers who barely scrape by who think they are middle class and better than a plumber for example just because they don’t do manual labor and work at a big name corpo.

The working class is fractured simply by how the media and the politicians have been using the term middle class. The real middle class is the bourgeoisie. The rich and wealthy who aren’t part of the ruling class. If people don’t realize this they will never mobilize against their masters.
