And luckily this wasn’t for anything too urgent, it was for credit card fraud or something along those lines. But actual emergencies get called into us all kinds of bass-ackwards ways like someone in another state calls their mom who lives here who calls her local police who transfer her to us so that we can transfer her to the police where the person who’s actually having an emergency is.

Thank you for giving us so much insight and taking the time to explain the background! I haven’t even considered this kind of scenario, I mean this sounds like a patter and something that might even increase as more people rely on bad AI. Can you maybe raise this issue with a higher up office? Also thank you for the important work you are doing, if I had an emergency, I would hope somebody considerate like you is on the other end! :)

No, I only recently found them! Thank you so much for the recommendations friend, are you by any chance an admin? we could recommend each others communities in the sidebar I think? :)

yeah I also read that they heavily train it on Reddit, used to be more last year though.

Interesting! I feel like they want the people to stay longer on their platform instead of going on the websites?

I was trying to relate this to the use of conflicts, while it may be true, - he was already doing this before the conflicts and could be doing this without them I think. Thank you for mentioning it though :)

Very very good point, it’s an awesome lemmy feature! Will try to remember from now, thank you for archiving/posting it friend <3

That is a valid way to feel about such news, Artificial intelligence is the capability of computational systems to perform tasks typically associated with human intelligence, such as learning, reasoning, problem-solving, perception, and decision-making. ;)

AI News = Good Stock News apparently ;)

So yeah. It’s good to have a good discovery algorithm, but it’s also addictive. So it’s good not to have an algorithm, but then it gets difficult to hit critical mass for both creators and consumers.

You can make your own algorithm on many Fediverse platforms, by blocking certain words I guess. I personally like the trending/explore pages.

Loops also has starter kits, to make building their own β€œalghorithm” easier for new users: https://loops.video/starter-kits/browse

Magic

Yeah I guess no algorithm also has a downside, however if you like to see mostly what your friends and people you follow post, it’s probably much better.

+1 Have you tried loops.video? Honestly the content on normal social media to me, feels extemely low quality compared to Fedi these days.

Certainly, however some are actively trying to get the kids addicted: https://lemmy.world/post/45040542

Hahahah thank you for this one hahaha Actually before this article I was reading: β€œFork found on Github” ;)
