the fuck ? The kid goes to hokey practice on the train then the other kid goes to soccer practice on the bus while you stay home.

agree. but Hungary is in the EU, notionally at least. So this is a little like saying Hungarian’s are trying to influence the vote, of course they are. If I was a Polish I’d be invested in the Hungarian election outcome as it can impact my life.

yes, and then i forget the encryption password as i don’t use the laptops that much these days and now have it written on the lid

they’ll come eventually

The first wave where the tech bros were you can leverage $ off them. Car manufacturers themselves said they were initially going after the high margin paying customer. You cant sell a new car here in Aus without all sorts of passive monitoring stuff,so that’s an issue for a simple car.

now you’re at the family level, mid size SUVs are prevailing here in Australian the BYD Atto 2 and similar models from Geely and KIA etc. Telsas are still unfortunately popular and we only get the 3 and the Y

most people want connected cars, my gf loves preheating our BYD when she heads off on an early morning start before she hops in, seats and cabin have been prewarmed etc. she likes the 360 birdseye cameras and I must admit they are very good.

When it’s at a public charger you can monitor it while you’re away so you don’t get hit with idle fees etc albeit 90% of our changing is at home off solar panels. The biggest complaint from Cupra and VW EV owners in Australia is the lack of connected services though there is possibly a bunch of folks who bought them for that reason who aren’t complaining.

lot more assholes than you hoped there’d be in this world.

I know people who felt that both sides at least tacitly supporting the genocide was so depressing that for their mental health they basically checked out of politics.

to do that in a democracy is beyond shameful.

You don’t have to be invested at the grass roots or debating magats but you can still turn up at a polling station on election day, or do a fucking postal vote

Notice how almost none of the majour dems have really condemned the war in Iran, even though it would have been massively electorally advantageous for them?

in the recent election for MJTs seat, the D candidate lost. One of the reasons given for WHY was because he actively opposed the war, the winning R was all Fir the war.

looking at that, when offered a chance voters sided with the pro war ideologue. They don’t have to vote D next time but they could have this time.

Fundamentally a politician wants to win. As a voter, I get people being despondent when there’s no real choice but here voters had a choice. Democrat politicians would be stupid not to pay attention.

As we nearly always do, we can dick about at the edges with xeriscaping and water saving shower heads and leave your towels on the floor of the hotel or whatever but

the issue as always is human stupidity and entitlement and we’re not able to fix that.

Parts of Phoenix still flood irrigate their lawns , that Phoenix, Vegas, Miami etc exisit is the problem.

Tesla has received a brutal reality check from Germany this week. The country’s closely watched TÜV Report 2026 has not only ranked the Tesla Model Y as the absolute worst car for reliability in its age group but noted that it has the highest defect rate of any vehicle tested in the last ten years.

The Model 3 didn’t fare much better, landing in the third-to-last spot with a 13.1% failure rate.

ffs, Lemmy’s strength is in it’s decentralised non corpo design, not that we users are a better quality of human. It went from Usenet, to the centralised shitiness of Reddit back to a decentralised system in Lemmy/Piefed more akin to Usenet

but, I’d also argue just by being here you’re a better person.

welp, not near me, every m2 is either cleared for dairy, popies, potatoes or meat cattle and forestry all over the hills, its a toxic green desert with fertiliser trucks running around and 100s of giant pivot irrigators running all summer to speed grass growth for the over stocked paddocks.

its heavily reliant on diesel and fertiliser.
