Could also be ancoms (Anarchx Communists). Which I have met more than one that were kinda looking down on individualist & insurrectionist anarchists and didnt even seem to try to understand their viewpoint.

Free and Open Source Software@beehaw.org•Thoughts on GrapheneOS? Is it worth switching from an iPhone?English
2·5 days agoI think it would be a great experience for you. If you are super worried you could try on a used device or be open to switch back, as both iPhones and Pixels ahve decent reselling value.
You sound like you are not relying on the Apple ecosystem, so you shouldnt lose out as much as others with lots of other Apple devices/services.
Also GrapheneOS has been the best Android experience I had, because it taught me not tl rely on Google services, embracing FOSS alternatives and actually caring about hoe my phone works / what data my apps can access.

Anarchism and Social Ecology@slrpnk.net•Hoping to check a concept for use in fictionEnglish
4·10 days agoI think even in an anarchist utopia, people might accidentally create a hierarchical / police like institution to deal with particular issues. But your example sounds more like current day private investigators / investigative journalists, who occasionally get tasked by their community to do police investigator things. I wouldnt really call that a police force.
I think the more relevant thing to me would be, what additional information are they able to access, why are those actually stored in the first place, who can normally access those etc. Because that might actually be the thing that would be the actual target of bad actors and those that want to have power over others.
Edit: Ah yeah for me it passes the vibe check for something that anti authoritarians might implement to deal with a serial killer or something, especially after they abolished the police.

1·11 days agoSchools themselves are the problem in my country and I think actually in many countries with mandatory schooling. Even the best teachers cannot help mitigate all the issues that result out of the current system. For youth liberation to happen the schools need to burn or atleast repurposed.

Anarchism@lemmy.dbzer0.com•How would restorative justice work when involving large amounts of people?English
3·11 days agoIIRC transformative justice involves the victims talking it out with the perpetrator, but here that would be a bit of a power imbalance. And one-on-one-ing with each one at a time from so many people would be, I think, tiring to the point of blocking catharsis.
Sorry but thats wrong, check out some sources regarding this. In short, transformative justice seeks to transform the conditions and people that were responsible for the transgression. One-on-oneing is not a necessary part of this (but coild still be done). Also in concrete situations support groups for the victims are a typical concept, thag allow them to keep agency and empowet them.
Larger scale transformative justice processes could draw inspiration from community accountability and as an concrete example from the reconciliation process that is ongoing after the Rwanda genocide.

5·16 days agoI would argue patriarchy was one of the reasons capitalism was actually able to exist and spread. Plus it also exists in non capitalist societies / contexts.
It’s implied. It doesn’t need to be said.
It definitely has to be said. Manarchists, brocialists and in general chauvinist on the left make it necessary. Because it isnt implied.

12·16 days agoIts also in issue in the real world. So many leftists I met were super knowledgeable about anticapitalism and antiimperialism, also put that to practice, but were still misogynistic asshats and cared little for antiracism.
