Perhaps by generating a bunch of complex copilot code to upload. It’s easy to mass produce and would look plausibly functional.

News@lemmy.world•ICE deployments created chaos for cities and cost them millions, NPR analysis findsEnglish
5·26 days agoYeah, it’s weird how all the media reports, even npr, pretend like anything being stated should be taken at face value so long after the regime has given up any pretext of what the say having to have even a kernel of truth.

United Kingdom@feddit.uk•Break privacy to make privacy? Age verification isn’t the answerEnglish
3·30 days agoIf that were the reason, why don’t they just force their users to verify their identities?
Probably realize that a non-trivial percentage of their userbase values not verifying their identity to facebook than they value being on facebook. They’d rather someone else be the bad guy, if they can do it while still reaping the benefits.
This was my first thought. I hadn’t bothered installing it in a while, then one day that fucking copilot icon appeared, and back I went. There’s something to be said for a tool that does the thing it needs to do well and only that.

10·1 month agoMaybe I’m out of line to assume this, but no part of me is inclined to assume that the unplanned inmate sex in a porta-potty would be anything but raw and stinky.

34·2 months agoDirect downloads ensure full availability by allowing all content to be available for download, no matter how obscure it may be.
Until the site shuts down.
I don’t think anyone’s ever going to argue that direct downloads aren’t more convenient, intuitive, accessible, and generally less risky for the downloader. But that comes at pretty steep costs/risks piled onto the host, which is why they’re so much harder to sustain long term.

692·2 months agoWhat’s strange to me is that it’s still working. I’m pretty sure if djt started his next speech with “Just to clear the air, yes I fucked some kids, but only the hot ones,” exactly zero people would be surprised and 20-30% of US voters would argue it’s the kids’ fault for being so hot.

His statement read like a generic one, so it likely includes all US user data (e.g., configs for their smart switches, videos from their cameras, support cases/interactions, and all sorts of other non-router related stuff).

2·2 months agoMaybe it’s been updated since you commented this, but there’s definitely a link that leads to a download of the publicly available report.

I think this phrasing is pretty key. Some people equate “question” to “doubt” and some view it as more “inquire to better understand” and without that being more clearly stated, I’m hesitant to bash the group in the “neither” group. I think it could feasibly indicate they believe it’s neither damaging to enforce or question vaccines (e.g., they want everyone to be informed and vaccinated).
Fuck that whole top group though.
