  • I love when you bust Gemini (or similar) telling you porkies and its like “haahhah oh yeah, I made up that up, sorry”.

I wish you could set the confidence level for stuff. Like for tech projects where you just want it to read the equivalent of man <application> and then make it so you can ask questions in natural language I want it to be 100% confident of the answer because it exists in the documentation, not made up because reasons.

  • I think its like the dunny rolls during covid… If there’s a temporary reduction in availability but people compound it by panic buying, it exagerates the scarcity to the point where it affects pricing.

I’m sure PHON and LNP are pissed that its come down a bit. Whinging about how “Albo” isnt doing anything about fuel prices was about their biggest marketing ploy and now its gone.

  • Tried out Hello Harry burgers tonight… Utter shite.

Tasteless meat, the sauces and pickles are sweet (how??), and worse - brioche buns! So it’s like eating pastry, with sugary sauces, and a patty with no taste.

Chips were also anaemic and tasteless.

Also got a strawberry milkshake to complete the experience… Which is at least meant to be sweet I guess? But just tasted like milk with strawberry syrup squirted in. On the one hand I guess that’s technically all that’s required for a milkshake, but on the other hand how is that $8?

Anyway. 0/10. Not recommended at all.

  • Todays pupdate:

Poppet and Booboo on this day 4 years ago. Unfortunately both gone since - Boo in 2024, Poppet in 2025 (New Years Eve, yay). I miss those dogs man.

Some of their litter mates are still going strong. On the one hand it sucks because I wanted more puppy time and I’m jelly they got more years… but on the other hand I’m happy they still get to have their puppies.

    Dogs are rad.

  • That’s the repair kit yeah? where you pump some chemical into it to keep it alive?

You can pump some goo in, but I prefer not to out of sympathy for the tyre dudes who have to replace the tyre next time… And the fact the goo can bugger up your TPMS. So I just use the air pump without the goo.

If I was in the middle of nowhere (more so) I’d give it a go. It’s only effective on small holes though. And many EV tyres actually come with a gel coating inside the tyre that offers some protection against minor holes.

I was told that you have to get special EV tyres but my understanding is they don’t HAVE to be, you just want ones that have low rolling resistance

They need to meet or exceed the weight rating (which in our case is 99XL: 750KG + stiffer sidewalls), and speed rating (which in our case is V: 240kph).

The other thing EV specific tyres normally aim for are:
    • lower rolling resistance,
    • harder compound to last longer when dealing with lots of torque,
    • uneven ribs so you don’t get harmonics,
    • usually less rubber so there’s less weight,
    • inner lining of foam to deaden noise,
    • usually a much stiffer sidewall to handle the weight (thus 99XL being common).

The tyres I’ve gone for are Michelin Primacy 5. Let’s see how they go!
