With Modern Archaeology, Berlin-based producer Prieste5s carves out a world where rhythm becomes ritual. "Modern Archaeology” is a four track exploration that feels like brushing dust off forgotten rhythms. Each piece reveals fragments of something ancient, reassembled through contemporary bass music language.
With ‘Faience', delicate drum programming meets textures that feel unearthed, establishing a sense of depth from the very first moment. From there, the energy dissolves into a hypnotic broken flow as shimmering tones drift through the restless pulse of 'Votive Objects', like fragments resurfacing through time. 'Hamer' draws inspiration from the traditions of the Hamer people of Ethiopia, its identity shaped through precise percussive placement that feels almost sculpted, surrounded by ghostlike traces of the past. The final piece, 'Divination Tool', anchors everything in a steady pulse, unfolding into a deep and quietly hallucinatory environment with a ritualistic undertone.

About Prieste5s

Prieste5s is a Berlin-based electronic musician, DJ, and visual artist. In her own productions, Prieste5s fuses versatile influences from across the genre spectrum - bass-heavy sounds, hypnotic techno elements, breakbeats, deep ambient, and experimental influences characterize her sonic palette. She takes her inspiration from a variety of different sources, and is passionate about experimentation in music as well as exploring the unexpected crossovers between different genres and different mediums.

Inspired by her fascination of the untouched wilderness, natural history, and geology, Prieste5s’ sound is a synthesis of organic sound design and psychedelic atmospheres. Utilizing field recordings and found sounds from various sources including nature, her travels and archival footage, her music is an expression of the transience of experience, and the ephemerality of the natural world. She is also the founder of Immaterial Earth, a project exploring the concept of bliss, emotionality, and the delicate interaction of ecosystem and organism.
