I’m going to go further and say the reason the Grinch is so unique and moody is because he is the last living member of his species who were wiped out by the Who’s.
Maybe, but I’m thinking that where ever the Grinch was serving certainly didn’t have a Christmas Truce and may constitute a painful backstory as to why he is The Grinch.
