This brand of Swiss is a firmer cheese and this particular one is about 7 months old making it a little more firm. Sometimes people call this a hot ham and cheese because it’s not always going to melt fully.

I’ll get those bags of bacon ends and pieces, aka irregular bacon cuts. Cram them into a “half pint” canning jar and pressure can them. Then they are shelf stable for years. When I need bacon I grab a jar and toss the bacon into a pan and fry it until crispy. It basically turns into bacon bits in the process.

Porridge can refer to any number of cooked grains in a gruel. I’ve made it from rice, semolina, barley, and of course, oats.

Backyard eggs, bacon I canned up a few years ago, fried potatoes with homemade taco seasoning, sour cream, cheddar, pepper sauce.
