Yeah that is true. I guess I’m also a little shocked that the movie that was so directly critical of the administration at the time (Right down to having a scene in which the President reads Good Night Moon to a classroom.) didn’t draw more controversy at the time. But I’m guessing I’m looking through 2026 eyes.

ARIA doesn’t directly decide to destroy itself, you might be thinking of Echelon Conspiracy, the Asylum-level Eagle Eye knock off where the AI does choose to delete itself after assessing that it is a risk to human rights.

Eagle Eye

The US cabinet deserves to die if it acts impulsively and kills innocents without culpability. Everyone brushes this movie as a silly AI movie (which it is for some of its runtime) but it’s mainly about an AI being pissed at humans for not wanting to think critically

Oh look just as the AV1 consortium is also deciding to do shakedowns. It’s a good thing the open source community have a history of building functional and well performing codecs, especially when it comes to media formats.

It’s easier to make a bottle to sell in most countries rather than make a difference bottle for a single market. Especially when that market has lax consumer rights laws.

That’s why I recommended this, their devices dual boot Android or Linux. One of their older devices quad boots by default

This isn’t a fly by night operation, it’s got a loyal fanbase, and good hardware and software support. They’ve been manufacturing for a decade, before that this guys were doing PDAs.
