Is the US tax year just…. The year?
The UK tax year is the 6th-5th of April. I wonder how that happened….
(… Quarter days? And switching between the Julian and gregorian calendars apparently)
7:45 last night. Average sleep duration over the last year is apparently 8:24!
I can get away with 6 hours for a couple of nights, any more than that and I’m miserable and useless.
The article mentions wireguard having similar issues, so there are probably lots of articles for each case
All of the posts were pictures that were fine here though, it’s just the titles, which in this sub are irrelevant
Got one provided by my ISP, great free router! On a new ISP now, but still using the old ISPs router!
Comes with automatic dynamic DNS built in if needed too!
* browser extensions
That’s why this post has been made to effectively poll the community
Fine to continue using it if you have it, but you would have to be crazy to start using any of their stuff if starting from scratch!
I mean, lots of the individual countries are pretty in debt…. The big ones even!
Mod probably has automod set up to notify them of comment edits in old threads.
The one thing I would ask is if they were tested in an electrically noisy environment + how long they last.
$4k is ridiculous, just buy the one that is twice the price of you want build quality.
Immich doesn’t explicitly support hotlinking, I remember it being a bit annoying to get an embeddable link? (Might have just been for video?)
Yes, it has the bot icon
The problem with this kind of stuff is that it HAS to be internet facing, and you want it to be stable so you don’t cause dead links.
You don’t want to be hosting software that’s not getting security updates, especially while linking to it randomly over the internet.
I use this for misc file sharing: https://github.com/filebrowser/filebrowser It installs as an app on unraid, nice and easy.
It supports direct links: https://files.nighed.xyz/api/public/dl/cmR8NjHz?inline=true (I don’t think these expire, I guess I will find out if someone complains…)
Or a download UI: https://files.nighed.xyz/share/cmR8NjHz
Every financial institution will ask if you are a US citizen. Most will refuse to accept you as a customer because they CBA with the tax bullshit.
See if you can find a bank that will accept you now, so you are no scrambling when you get here.
My work uses Azure Dev Ops because it’s “free”, I assume it’s effectively just GitHub actions, but without the AI (because no one has updated it in the last 5 years)?
If so, I can agree the agents are awful.
For the size of data that oil exploration requires, tapes make lots of sense still.
They have higher density, and they are more shock proof. When you need to move masses of data round the world, writing it to tape, then sticking it on a plane is still the fastest way to move it (probably, may have changed I guess)
Removing the creators name/watermark isn’t going to help matters
It’s good for some stuff - it means you get strong unique passwords for sites etc.
BUT
The fact it auto completes basically means that if someone gets access to your phone/computer while it’s logged in, they can log into anything. (A password is normally required to actually VIEW them? - maybe not on desktop!)
I use the built in manager for most days to day stuff, but anything financial or non browser based is stored in keepass. It’s a bit annoying, but way more secure that way.
