I get the feeling this guy was only taken on as VP to make Trump seem competent in comparison.

Also picked because he will never sign off on invoking the 25th amendment and will not faithfully oversee the counting of electors in 2029

Close enough. He was actually taken on as a favour to Peter Thiel. So he’s exactly as competent as you’d expect the personal toady of a billionaire libertarian tech bro to be.

I does boggle the mind that they could find someone even less competent than Trump, but he isn’t even remotely likeable, either. Every time I hear him speak, I cringe in second-hand embarrassment at his flailing attempts at trying to back up Trumps lies, but only briefly before I’m yelling at my screen for him to shut the fuck up.

I reckon they send him in when they want negotiations to fail. They surely can’t expect him to know what he’s doing.

Vance is doing so much good work. I think he should get that thank you he desperately needs to hear 😆.

      Maybe Trump will fire him.

In theory, the president can’t fire the vice president, for the same reason why the vice president can’t fire the president.

But I don’t think anyone’s ever just tried it with the “screw the rules I have judges” workaround, so, 🤷

If Trump dies or is removed after after Vance is fired, that makes Mike Johnson president.

      DEAR. GOD.

Seems likely given the recent talk of removing Trump via the 25th(?) ammendment. Less likely if there’s no VP (let’s hope noone in the administration watched The West Wing!)

There’s a 100% risk, because it already happened.

Except of course I’d argue the Hungary trip was a roaring success. 🤣
