This is just indirectly the same joke as the guy who said sushi.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Guess there is always a downside
28·9 hours agoThat’s not too odd, but usually the murder weapon is legislation.
Funny enough, there’s a brand of vodka made in Minnesota called Grey Duck.
Ugh I have astigmatism and I was reading Lemmy without my glasses, that meme is headache inducing.

I’ve heard to skip the first novel of the Culture series, I read it and kinda bounced off of it from a prose standpoint because it’s very 80s sci fi, so the rest of the series probably isn’t for me.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•No like really bro I’m just here for the silly shoes
5·11 days agoBowling shoes no, but I remember saddle shoes having a resurgence with hipsters and I think the stereotypical bowling shoes are a type of saddle shoe.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•In these uncertain times, it's more important than ever to be discerning and to make sure to get your info from a reliable source.
2·12 days agoQuite a few of my local Chinese places still use the clamshell takeout ones. It’s the worst. The plastic and the stereotypical one both work really well. The Styrofoam is good at leaking all the sauce out the sides.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is Jules Vernes overlooked in the Anglosphere
1·13 days agoI saw the one in the 2000s in the theater. I thought it was fun and the subterranean dinos were neat, but apart from that it wasn’t very memorable. But I’ve read the novel and… I’d say the exact same thing about the novel. So it’s a great adaptation. Verne is fun, but Wells had something to say.

2·13 days agoData is the annoying one because it’s consistently used wrong (to a degree that I wonder if the “wrong” usage is now acceptable due to a critical mass of wrong). The word data is plural, datum is the singular.
Hey OP, lemvotes is a thing. And you’re the one downvoter on completely valid criticism here.
I liked seeing a comic grow out of the fediverse, and your comedy was hit or miss but I figured you’d get better with practice and feedback. Your response here shows you’re not going to grow with feedback and you’re always gonna suck.

2·14 days agoWait, the Netherlands has legal magic mushrooms? That surprises me given that I’ve heard their weed isn’t quite as freely legal as their reputation makes it seem.

As one of those “games as art” people I think you’ve kinda misunderstood the stance - narrative and gameplay are very much part of the art we’re talking about. Films as art is well established but aesthetics alone don’t make a film great - see the (blue skinned aliens) Avatar films, they look fantastic but everything else is meh. Most of us aren’t really interested in the Thomas Kinkade of video games, lol.
